The Benjamin K. Boateng Foundation in partnership with Saving Children Across All Roots (SCAR) will be hosting our First Annual Backpack Drive. We believe that all children deserve the opportunity to receive a well-rounded education, regardless of their geographic location.

In a study conducted by UNICEF on Ghana’s educational system, it was discovered that approximately 400,000 children in the primary school age range were not matriculated in kindergarten. It is very palpable from this statistic that Ghana is suffering from an educational pandemic.  

 

When a struggling parent is tasked with choosing between providing food for their child or sending their child to school, most parents choose the former out of sheer desperation. In order to ensure that Ghanaian parents will not have to make the difficult decision of choosing between educating their children or providing basic living necessities, we are hosting our first annual back-pack drive in the Buipe and Dama Nkwanta regions of Ghana. 

 

Our goal is to provide book bags containing school supplies for children in need. In order for our vision to become a reality, we need donations from faithful individuals who are looking to make an impact in a child’s life one book bag at a time. Among the few things we will be sending are notebooks, masks, hand sanitizers, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, folders and a vast array of other necessities to children impacted by the educational crisis occurring in Ghana. Every donation matters.
